Smart Handheld GPS app has an interface just like any other hand held GPS but it has more advantages than a normal handheld GPS.
It has amazing features like you can collect up to 20 columns of attributes, In the field you can visualize your location on Google maps unlike any other handheld GPS, you can dynamically create forms for collecting feature attributes, attributes and coordinates are stored in a comma delimited (CSV) file on the SDcard which you just download and open directly in a GIS software after your field work. The CSV file is found on your SDCard in a forlder called GPS_Attributes. Every time you edit the attributes on the settings view, a new attribute file is generated and the previous arrchived. You will therefore exeperience several files in the folder if you handle several different projects
I have tested the application on Huawei Ideos a very cheap common android smart phone in Kenya. The app performs up to an accuracy of 2m and it is amazing because you just confirm the position on Google maps.The main objective of this application is to enable cheap mobile mapping and data collection in developing countries and in students researches.
